Vanity Fair decided to put a price tag on Cindy McCain's "presence" at the GOP Convention Tuesday night. And Greg Sargent has had some fun with the results:

Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000

Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500

Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000

Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000-$25,000

Shoes, designer unknown: $600

Total: Between $299,100 and $313,000.

"Vanity Fair knows about these things, so we trust 'em. Of course, when it comes to measuring elitism, what's a $300,000 outfit compared to ... whatever it is that's supposed to be elitist about the Obamas?
